What we check when we value a Triumph

This is what we look at on every Triumph, and what is worth telling us, so your offer is right first time.

  • Dropped bikes accepted
  • Faults accepted
  • Custom bikes welcome

Free Triumph valuation

Start with the registration and mileage. There is no obligation.

Thank you. A few more details about the bike, and the best way to reach you.

Or call free on 0800 316 6807, or send photos on WhatsApp.

Engine

How the engine runs

Tell us how the bike starts from cold, how it idles and pulls, and about any noises, leaks or warning lights. Electrical faults are worth mentioning too.

Model

Model, year and spec

Spec makes a difference on most Triumphs. Tell us the exact model and year, and whether it is a special or limited edition.

Chassis

Frame, suspension and wheels

Let us know about any drops or crashes, leaking seals and damage to the frame, subframe or wheels. Photos of both sides and the front help.

Extras

Accessories and custom work

Tell us what has been added and whether you still have the original parts. On a custom bike, list what was done and who did it if you know.

Wear

Tyres, chain and brakes

Consumables do not stop us buying, but they help us get the figure right first time. Shaft-drive bikes like the Rocket 3 and Tiger Explorer have no chain to worry about.

History

Records and keys

A stamped book or a folder of invoices makes valuing easier. Mention recent services, recalls carried out and any big jobs.

Your checklist

  • The V5C registration document in your name
  • Photo ID: passport or driving licence
  • All keys, including the spare
  • Service book or invoices
  • Any original parts that came off, such as the standard exhaust or mirrors
  • If there is finance: the settlement figure from your lender

This page explains what we look at when we value a Triumph. It is not a price guide: every bike is valued individually, free and without obligation.

Triumph valuation questions

Should I fix the fault before selling?

No. Sell it as it is and tell us what is wrong.

Should I refit the standard exhaust?

No need. Just include it with the bike if you have it.

Do you need the service history?

It helps but is not essential.

Can you collect a bike that will not start?

Yes, free in a van anywhere in the UK.

Will you give me a price over the phone?

We will give you a firm offer once we have the registration, mileage and a few photos.
